Bill Jones Endowed Scholarship

Often seen at the Pine Crest Inn serving up his acerbic wit to duffers and tour pros alike, Bill Jones was a fixture in Pinehurst from the late 1970s until his death from cancer in 1995. He also wrote about golf for The Pilot newspaper and helped organize charity tournaments.

Established in 1996 through the efforts of the Bill Jones Foundation, The Bill Jones Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a first year college transfer student who intends to pursue a Bachelors degree in Journalism or English. Student must maintain an acceptable GPA. Student may continue scholarship second-year if qualified
