JVP Endowed General Scholarship

Established in 2021 by the family of Janet Van Pelt and Jonda Van Pelt, to provide scholarship to Sandhills Community College students. The Van Pelt sisters valued education, and they understood the road to getting an education comes with many challenges. These JVP scholarships will help others take another step closer to academic success.

The JVP Endowed General Scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in the College Transfer Program with plans to seek a baccalaureate degree at a four-year school. The student must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to those who are the first generation in their family to enroll in college. Preference will also be given to single parents. Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

_Establecida en 2021 por la familia de Janet Van Pelt, esta beca sirve para financiar las necesidades de los estudiantes de Sandhills Community College. A las hermanas Van Pelt les importaban la educación, y ellas entendían que el camino a obtener una educación viene con muchos desafíos. Estas becas de Janet Van Pelt ayudarán a los demás a tomar otro paso hacia el éxito académico.

La Beca Fundida por una Donación de JVP se le galardona a estudiantes inscribiéndose en el Programa de la Transferencia Universitaria con planes para buscar un título en una universidad de cuatro años. El/La estudiante debe demostrar necesidad financiera. Se da una preferencia a los estudiantes que son de primera generación en la universidad. Además, se da una preferencia a madres solteras o padres solteros. Debe mantener un GPA de al menos 2.5._
