Carolina Eye Associates Scholarship Fund

Established in 2013 to help support the creation of a new Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Program at Sandhills Community College, The Carolina Eye Associates Scholarship Fund is awarded annually to deserving students enrolling full-time in the Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Program. Selection is based on merit and potential for success, and strong recommendations form faculty are critical. Student may receive the scholarship during the second year, if qualified; scholarship will be awarded every other year if same student receives scholarship during second year.

Carolina Eye Associates was established in 1977 in Pinehurst/Southern Pines, North Carolina, by Dr. Robert Gale Martin and Dr. George Tate, Jr. Since then, patients from across the United States and over 20 foreign countries have come to Carolina Eye for their eye care needs. Today, it is one of the largest eye care practices in the Southeast, with eight regional eye care centers in North and South Carolina. Carolina Eye offers a complete menu of services plus a full-service accredited eye surgery center and laser center in our Pinehurst/Southern Pines location.
