The Jim and Sarah Garrett Endowed Scholarship provided by the Southern Pines Lion's Club

In 2009 when the Southern Pines Lion’s Club disbanded, all of the club’s assets went to establish a scholarship honoring two of their past members, Jim and Sarah Garrett. The Jim and Sarah Garrett Endowed Scholarship provided by the Southern Pines Lion’s Club is awarded to a Moore County resident (Southern Pines resident preferred) who is enrolled full-time at Sandhills Community College. Preference given to visually handicapped students and/or recipient’s major fields of study could include (but not limited to) service-oriented programs. Student should have demonstrated financial need.
