William E. and Margaret V. Covington Endowed Scholarship

The William E. and Margaret V. Covington Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a first or second-year Business or Accounting student. Student must maintain a 2.0 GPA, and must demonstrate financial need.

One of the earliest gifts made to Sandhills Community College was from Mr. William E. Covington who originally established an award in 1969 in memory of his parents to go to a graduate from the Business Department. The Covington’s generously supported this award for over thirty years. After Mrs. Covington passed in 2002, her children established an endowed scholarship celebrating the lives and memories of their parents and in keeping with the spirit of the same award their parents had supported for so many years.
