The Richard and Sally Phelps Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2011 by Richard and Sally Phelps to honor athleticism and scholastic achievement, The Richard and Sally Phelps Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a first or second year Health & Fitness Science / or Physical Fitness Technology Associate student who is judged to have potential for success with at least a 3.0 GPA. Financial need may also be considered.

In 1966, Richard Phelps founded Superior Brands. Over the next 23 years, Superior introduced new and innovative products, in both pet treats and pet foods. For more than 34 years, Mr. Phelps’ entrepreneurial spirit and vision have been the driving force behind successes and innovations in dog treats and now household products. Richard and Sally Phelps were introduced to the Sandhills family in 2005 and Mr. Phelps has served on the SCC Foundation Board since 2006.
