First Bank Scholarship

First Bank was established in Troy, North Carolina and built on a commitment to provide genuine community bank service and helpful solutions from local bankers who care about doing what’s right. In the spirit of that commitment to helping the community, one of the older scholarships at Sandhills Community College, established in 1979, The First Bank Scholarship is awarded annually to a second-year student in Accounting or Business Administration. Student must demonstrate financial need, and should demonstrate potential for success in business field.

With more than 79 years of dedicated service, First Bank proudly serves 32 counties in North Carolina, with locations in South Carolina and Virginia, for a total of nearly 100 full-service branches and is the fifth largest bank headquartered in North Carolina with approximately $3.3 billion in assets. First Bank is now centered even closer to Sandhills Community College with their new headquarters’ location in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
