The Family of Joey Medeiros

Joey Medeiros was the beloved wife of Art Medeiros and mother of Cynthia M.A. Medeiros, known to many as CMA. A Quebec native, she and Art traveled extensively in their corporate life together and settled in Pinehurst in August 2000 to enjoy their retirement.

A painter, decorator, and someone who appreciated beauty in all of its forms, Joey Medeiros had great enjoyment and love for art and performance.

Always game for new adventures, Joey loved river cruises in Europe and spending summers at their Quebec City condominium. She enjoyed interior design, so Joey’s creativity illuminated many a house that quickly felt like a home to family and friends. Another of her passions was painting and filled canvasses with color, particularly portraits in pastels; her favorite medium.

Her other interests included attending the Live in HD Operas from the Met, and the Classical Concert Series at The Sunrise. She loved the Pinehurst Forum and she looked forward to Canasta and Mah Jong games with her dear friends.

At a time when the Medeiros family needed them, nurses and health professionals were there by their side with loving care during difficult times. The Joey Medeiros Memorial Scholarship for Nursing and Health Science honors that time and is dedicated to the life and memory of the love of Art Mederios’ life, his wife of 52 years, Joey Medeiros.
