Pinehurst Garden Club

Pinehurst Garden Club

The Pinehurst Garden Club is organized for the purpose of encouraging home and community horticultural improvements. Since its founding in 1981, the Pinehurst Garden Club has participated in numerous Village beautification projects. Members assist in the Village Spring and Fall plantings and decorating at Christmas time. Each branch of the Pinehurst Garden Club also participates in various beautification projects year-around. In 1989 the club established the Memorial Garden in the center of the Village using proceeds from our annual fund raiser the Spring Plant Sale.

In addition, the Pinehurst Garden Club supports civic causes including the funding of an annual scholarship for a deserving Sandhills Community College horticultural student. Today our club has 120 members in five branches (Dogwood, Magnolia, Holly, Pine and Azalea) that meet independently each month between September and May. Residents of Pinehurst are welcome to join by contacting an existing club member.

Impact

The Pinehurst Garden Club Scholarship Fund was established in 1998, and is awarded to a deserving 2nd year student enrolled in the Landscape Gardening Program.
