Coy & Ruth Oakley Scholarship
Coy and Ruth Oakley raised their family in Moore County and were avid believers in the value of an education. Both supported the community and encouraged their children and grandchildren to further their education. Coy served on the Carthage Town Board and was a volunteer fireman. He retired from the American Tobacco Company. Ruth worked for Moore County Schools and retired from the U.S Postal Service. Both were passionate about helping others. The Scholarship was established as a way to give back to the community they supported and enable their passion for education to give someone the opportunity to pursue their career goals.
