The Drug Free Moore County Scholarship

The Drug Free Moore County was established in 2008 and is awarded annually to a Moore County resident enrolled in SCC. The scholarship supports students pursuing disciplines that facilitate the prevention, intervention, and treatment of substance abuse in Moore County (including tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs). A student’s major field of study could include (but not be limited to) health, education, social work, criminal justice, research, or employee assistance. Student must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to an active, drug-free lifestyle (i.e., membership in one of the organizations shown in the attached list) and should present a personal statement describing a commitment to a substance-free lifestyle. Student must demonstrate financial need, and must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
