Don Padgett Endowed Scholarship for Golf Course/Turfgrass Management

Don Padgett Sr., served as director of golf at Pinehurst from 1986 until his death in 2003. Mr. Padgett also served as president of the PGA. Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Padgett, The Don Padgett Scholarship for Golf Course and Turfgrass Management was endowed in 2004 with proceeds from the SCC Foundation?s Annual Golf Tournament.

This scholarship is awarded to a first-year student accepted into the Turfgrass Management Program at Sandhills Community College. Preference is given to employees or family members of employees of Pinehurst Resorts. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA, and may receive funds for a second year if qualified.
