Mary Abraham Hodgkins Endowed Music Scholarship

The Mary Abraham Hodgkins Endowed Music Scholarship is the oldest scholarship in existence at Sandhills Community College established in 1969 in honor of the wife of SCC Charter Trustee Norris L. Hodgkins, Sr.

The Mary Abraham Hodgkins Endowed Music Scholarship is awarded to a second-year music major with either keyboard, band, or orchestra instrument as a performing medium. Audition and recommendation from Music faculty required. Students must maintain 2.0 GPA or better, and student must have high musical standards.

The support of fine families in the area, such as the Hodgkins family, has been instrumental to the effectiveness of Sandhills Community College in producing skilled and educated graduates. Norris Hodgkins, Jr. continues the tradition of support established by his father. He too has served on the Board of Trustees at Sandhills, and he has continued to support the college and his mother?s scholarship fund.
